Itaú and Nubank deny having suffered a leak; the cloning may have been due to a security breach in physical stores or online.

In a statement to Tecnoblog, Itaú explains that “the transactions involving the aforementioned establishment were carried out in a digital environment using customer card data”.
In its positioning, Itaú regrets what happened and guarantees that it did not experience any security vulnerability or suffered data leakage. “The bank has monitoring systems to detect situations of attempted fraud and, in the case in question, it has adopted all the appropriate measures to protect and support its customers”, states the note.
